Clicker Idle Incremental Game Math

Hello Fellow Game Devs. I’ve found myself hooked on playing the Clicker/Idle/Incremental Games: Cookie Clicker & Clicker Heroes. These games are purely about variable rewards schedules, leveling up, purchasing upgrades, and earning achievements which appear to be infinite. Grinding is eliminated by purchasing clickbots. I thought this would be good place to discuss the math formulas behind these games as they’re applicable to many other genres. Would one day like to see a Clicker Game using UE4 Tech.

Check out this Article/Tutorial: Numbers Getting Bigger: The Design and Math of Incremental Games. Its all about the math behind this genre.

I saw this, and had to laugh:

Though, I don’t doubt that it is plenty of fun

HaHa, I agree. Just goes to show how simple a game mechanic can be.
