CLI Command Delete Model Componant

Hi Capturing Reality,

This is a post to request CLI access to be able to delete a Componant Model, because RC does not internally support a 4D processing timeline, managing and editing multiple RC projects can be quite difficul.

This is an important requirement when processing 100’s or 1000’s of 4D frames, as each .rcproject folders content can grow exponentially. Especially if users have to split processing into parts. Project folders can grow into the GB’s per frame x the number of frame folders, whilst retaining redundant data that could be trimmed. This will grow into the TB’s of data per performance.

Typical example of a project frame’s contents:

In this example we can see that RC stores 4 models in the same project. 1 for the simplified version, 1 for the smoothed version and then 1 for the textured version, as well as the original HIGH raw scan version. This one project is about 1GB but it could be trimmed.

The HIGH raw scan version is our backup baseline that we must keep, always. The largest data in the set. This we could archive.

So we would require to generate a 2nd set of project folders to split the pipeline into a 2nd part of processing for Simplified, Smoothing, Texturing and therefore then remove the High model.

Or perhaps to be able to Keep Model 1 and Model 4 and delete Model 2 and 3. Just having the ability to be able to trim and organize RC projects for archiving. Of course we can do this manually in RC but there is no command to be able to do this in the CLI version.

Model Number Reset

There might also be scenarios where by the user might require the Model numbering to reset back to a correct order. As a tick box option and a CLI command.

For example if we delete Model 2, 3 and 4 in this scenario:

If we then regenerate say a Simplified model, the Model numbering does not reset back to Model 2 but continues as Model 5. Even though there are now only 2 models in the porject.

This might then conflict with current batch scripts already predefined in the 4D processing pipeline.

Thanks,

hello, the commands have been added: https://support.capturingreality.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032277911-Version-1-0-3-9128-RC-Pre-release-

That’s great. Thank you for the support.
