Clarification on using Sidekick character images for custom in-game UI

Hi,

I’m currently developing an island that utilizes official Sidekick characters via NPC Character Definitions.

I need to display 2D icons of these Sidekicks in a custom in-game UI (such as an in-game collection/inventory widget to show players which Sidekicks they have unlocked through gameplay). None of these Sidekicks are sold for V-Bucks or involved in paid island transactions; they are solely in-game gameplay elements.

I have two questions regarding Epic’s IP and asset policies:

  1. Third-party sourced renders: Is it compliant with creator policies to download publicly accessible Sidekick render images (e.g., from community database sites like Fortnite.GG) and import them into the UEFN project as UI textures?

  2. Recommended workflow: If importing external renders from the web is not permitted under policy rule 1.7.1, what is the officially compliant way to obtain and display Sidekick icons for in-game UI widgets? (e.g., are there built-in engine UI textures we can reference directly, or should creators capture/render the in-engine meshes directly from the UEFN viewport?)

Any clarification or recommended workflows from Epic staff or fellow creators would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
