Greetings Epic!
I greatly appreciate the option to claim all assets in Fab. But according to the page it says they will remain free after they become purchasable IF you have the standard license. Is the Standard License included for all UE developers or is this a subscription based program and is this license for anyone who uses Fab? Lastly what are the royalty details regarding the Fab Standard License.
Another issue, if I read the terms correctly, is that if you share a project with now freely available quixel content with other people, then you are solely responsible for ensuring those individuals agree to not distribute the assets either as standalone or part of the project. So basically you can’t distribute a project with quixel content through git freely, even if it is part of a portfolio.
You make a very strong point. I really do want to get Epic Staff involved here with us. We have questions that do need to be answered. And I mean where does this cut out, how do we know the license won’t ever have to change for using the engine?
I have the exact same question. For instance if I use an asset from Fab and use it in a rendering in Twinmotion where I have a commercial license can I continue to use the assets I downloaded for free from Fab for renderings I show to a client ?
If he doesn’t like the rendering or changes the project , then do I have to ask him to destroy the renderings he has been presented with ?
All of these are good questions. Epic, please respond with a very specific answer for all of these questions. We are consumers and need to know why you changed something that was already perfect. What are all of these changes? What legalities did you just drop on devs such as us? Please answer us.
Sincerely, Misc. Myth
