City Sample Vehicles for Video, not Game

Hello.

What’s the best way to rig the vehicles to make them driveable not within game mode? I want to keyframe the animation and retain the deform properties for when collisions occur.

Also, cameras attached to vehicles in game mode. How can I ignore those and record the action with my own, imported camera? Yes, I’m just starting out with UE5.

Many thanks.

You should start having a look at Take Recorder (Using Take Recorder | Unreal Engine Documentation) and to Sequencer (Sequencer Overview | Unreal Engine Documentation).

The former allows you to record all the movements you have done with the vehicles (e.g. in play mode); the latter allows you to build a cinematic in which you can have any camera you want and export the sequence as a video.

Hope this helps you to get started. If you any other question, please ask.

Thank you very much for that.

Yes, I saw a tutorial where a chap mentioned Take Recorder and I am certainly going to investigate it - but I needed that prompt - so thanks. I have already rendered a PNG animation using Sequencer so I should be okay when it comes to output.

Now, how do I ‘assign’ a vehicle to be Player One if you will? Meaning, I want to drive the car (and record the action) - but nothing happens when I hit Play. Am I failing to also import the Control Rig?
