Hey all, for everyone getting the “unavailable” option, we found the source of the issue and applied a fix. If you completely exit and restart the launcher, that should resolve the issue for you.
For folks with missing plugins and such, the fix may be a fresh install of 5.0. The Early Access build is displaying as 5.0.0, so to make sure you’re using the right version, we’d recommend uninstalling EA and installing a fresh 5.0.0.
Hi All,
The way to get the Epic Games Launcher updates is to look in the bottom left for the “Settings” option and click this there will be a box telling you that there is an updated version click on this to install the updated version.
The next thing was to go into the “Drive:\Program Files\Epic Games” directory and rename the original Preview 2 version from “UE_5.0” to “P2_UE_5.0”
This will save your original version. If you cannot do this Restart your PC.
When you try and load UE_5.0 it will work as you will have the final version.
You MUST wait until; verification is complete to get the plugins Quixel Bridge.
You can now load City Sample into UE5 You MUST wait until; verification is complete to get the plugins
Mate. I just realised if you just leave it for longer it will come to the next session verifying the project. Then you will start to see all the plugins folders and stuff.
yeah, i had the same problems, but i had to completely delete all City Sample files even in the vault cache, then reinstall. not ideal considering it took about 4 hours in download, but I hope its worth it. Waiting for reinstall to see if it works.
Same issue today - none of the plugins included… also it duplicated the city file 5 times - so it was 500gb’s - insanity. It seems to want to fresh download it every time i try to open it.
this some whack download, i waited hours, and then i cant even find my plugin folder, and then they talk about download houdine code file or something, and then just detele all files and redownload again? bruv, and i just got a new laptop dude, this aint exciting.
Guys, if you have not seen the Verifying bar ,that means you have not completely downloaded the project. I had the same issue and thought it finished downloading but could not find plugin folders. All I did was redo it but this time I wait long enough(it is unreasonably long and you would think it wasnt doing anything) then the verifying bar pop and plugin folder show up after verifying.
OMG, this solved all my issues! Got the plugins moved to the right place, got it to launch, was able to import my own assets, all because of this fix! Thank you!
I’m from the UNITY world, but I’ve never experienced such chaos as working with HOUDINI in Unreal 5.
I can not see that the seeker is helped here.
Once the poorly explained installation with HOUDINI has run,
then Unreal won’t start anymore. And I get several pages of errors in houdini18.5, which is the version specified.
This is intimidating!
