I’m having an issue with the new cineware plugin, I’ve install it and active in unreal plugins but when I try to import into unreal the c4d files won’t show up.
So I have use the old datasmith plugin to get the c4d files into unreal.
At first I had the installer use for 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3 but cineware that did work so I uninstalled it and just used it for 5.2(it the current version I’m using on this job) but still hasn’t worked.
what Cinema 4D version are you using? Do you get any messages/popups in the bottom right corner when you open Unreal 5.2?
You should make sure that CinewareForUnreal was installed to the correct location.
Find your Unreal 5.2 installation and go to the Plugins/Marketplace folder, typically “C:\Program Files\Epic Games\UE_5.2\Engine\Plugins\Marketplace”. This is where CinewareForUnreal should have been installed to. If it is not there, install it again to the correct path.
If it was correctly installed, it will initialize when you open Unreal, and you will be able to select C4D files when importing via Datasmith. If it still won’t work, could you PM me the contents of your Output log (UE5->Window->Output Log)?
Thanks for that, I going to blame this one on my dyslexia. The version of c4d is 2023.1.1 not 2023.2.2 even doe I see then message each time it came up, was only when I was writing it down I saw my mistake because keep switching the numbers around when reading.
