This is a really quick and dirty proof of concept prototype of a distinct and different cinematic feel for FPS shooters heavily inspired from the Killzone 2 2005 E3 trailer. The main focus was trying to make it look like it is hand animated (most players are really shoddy cameramen/women) and give weight to all the actions: from the way that you and the camera POV moves to firing your gun. I discovered that the more elements and detail I add the better it seems to feel (it got a lot meatier after I added the VFX for firing the gun), but I am not sure it is quite there just yet (I suspect there is more massaging to do to make it feel like weight not latency (the camera motion is still 1 to 1 to mouse movement, but with motion dependant latency)).
I know this will not be everyone’s cup of tea and that is totally fine and I also know it is different and it is meant to be, but I wonder if there is still an audience out there that might like this kind of experience enough for it to be viable.

I mostly care for feedback about the feel, but any thoughts that come to your head and you are willing to write down are very welcome!
Also if anyone knows how to get per object motion blur working for destructible mesh chunks (editing source?), let me know!
