I am having trouble rendering a scene where a protagonist (ProRes4444+Alpha) presents in front of a screen. It plays back totally fine in the viewport but once I render it out, the playback of the protagonist is very choppy. It seems to be some kind of buffering problem, because as soon as I replace the ProRes Footage by a PNG sequence, it’s working just fine in the render but won’t playback smoothly in my viewport anymore. Somebody know what’s going on? Pls help!
The project used to work fine on a Windows machine but I had to switch to a Macbook Pro M1 max. That’s where this problem started.
Its likely due to temporal samples. In 5.6 they made improvements to the proton player so that it plays nicely in engine while dealing with MRQ temporal sub samples.
Thank you for your reply. That’s not what I meant. The render is skipping frames from the source video. Like - almost all of them. Every 15 frames or so the source would update. Everything else plays smoothly in the renders, camera movements, etc.
Yeah Temporal Samples will tick the engine forward. There is nothing telling the video source to stop and wait for the frame in MRQ to finish. So its likely running ahead.
