Cinema 4D support or Cinema 4D pipeline

How looks support with Cinema 4D and UE4?!
Any Pipelines/Tutorials ?!
Or mayby you do not will support with maxon soft?!

I just bake the object and then export it as FBX

How about:
-Exporting and Rigging Character
-Exporting animation for example Walk/Run
-Exporting Materials/Textures
-Exporting UV mapping
-Exporting Items join with “Expresso” UE4 read it?!
Did you use only Cinema 4D ? or also another program?!

Can you share any tutorial?!

sorry for my bad english

Bump ?!

Hello,

I have some problems too about import some characters with Rig made with C4D and import into UE4.
This character’s Rig works well with UDK, there’s no problem about the import in UDK, but when i import it in UE4 the rig doesn’t appear in the list, there is only the Base Rig of UE4, any idea???

, about “SkeletalMesh” i think that this is the same ways as UDK :
-All the Rig and animations must be done with bones, not with expresso ( i think that it doesn’t work but i haven’t test yet )

  • About your UV, you should have 2 UVmap on C4D for staticMesh ( when there’s no Rig ) and don’t forget to put a name different about these 2 UV . ( the 1st for the texture, the 2nd for the lightmap )
-All the material made with C4D can not be import inside UE4, you have to bake your textures then made create your material inside UE4
  • all the export From C4D must be in FBX 2013
  • about the “phong tag” when you import it into UE4 make sure to check “Explicit Normals” ( if this is as UDK if you don’t check it you “phong tag” won’t work )

Hope to help you, But everything is new for now, don’t have the answer…
But for the base find a tutorial about C4D to UDK import, this should answer some of your questions…

Ok, now i know why nothing appears before inside the skeleton list… I’ts simply because we have to create it during the import of the FBX. I put the dox where everythingf is explain about skeleton:
