I’m looking for a 3D scanner to create a detailed scan of a historical building for preservation purposes, one that can effectively capture both interior and exterior details. Although I have an iPhone with LiDAR capabilities, I’ve been unable to achieve the level of detail required for this project. Since this is a one-day undertaking, I’m hoping to find rental equipment that would cost less than $500 USD rather than purchasing something outright for this single-use scenario. I currently own a DJI Mavic Pro 1 drone and am curious if I could potentially create a DIY scanning solution using this equipment.
Then I can take all the data and re-create the building in reality capture and put the 3d model under MIT or another open license.
