Child Actors in World Outliner Not Selectable or Editable

After placing an actor that has child actors in the Unreal Engine 4.13 Viewport, you are uable to easily select and edit any child actors or their properties in the world outliner, and Details panel.

  1. Place an actor with a child actor in the level editor viewport
  2. Try selecting the child actor in the world outliner
  3. Try editing the child actor properties in the detail panel

It doesnt appear to work properly, and or at all.

Another issue or feature not implement? unable to expose a child actor component as public inside an actor, place it in the world, and set the child actor on the main actor from within the editor using world outliner->actor->details panel->Set child actor.

Thanks

Hey dmorgan,

After testing and reproducing the behavior you’re experiencing, it leads me to believe it is the same issue as Unreal Engine Issues and Bug Tracker (UE-16688)

I believe that once this issue is resolved, it will also resolve the behavior you’re experiencing.

Thank you for your report.

Have a great day

It’s not the same issue. The issue that was fixed was about the Blueprint Editor Viewport.

The issue reported in this post is about the World Outliner.

And it’s still not working in Unreal 5.1, btw. (Google sent me here.)
