Yes old news, i had chat with famous chat. However it created fine code for asm 6502, godot shaders, unreal C++ that exposes variables to blueprints, created Boids code in java, refused to translate it to asm 6502.
It is already smarter than 99.7% of us. Not yet self aware, but i think 90% of my friends are also.

So we (coders, game devs) have some years before NVIDIA (OR AMD) make 10 times faster GPUs. Or even faster, and luckily for us humans moore’s law is dead (at least for now).
Yeah. I was always very proud of the ease of use and iteration speed of Blueprint, but I have to say that with tools like ChatGPT and Github Copilot, it makes me want text based scripting language in UE 10x more.
ChatGPT can provide some instructions on how to build stuff in BP, but it’s clunky. You can’t just copy and paste it. Instead you have to follow creation and setup of each individual BP node as if it was a cookbook.
GH Copilot works extremely with with Unreal C++, but C++ development has just too much friction for the iteration time to be reasonable, especially when just prototyping.
