Character work cost?

Hi L04D3D,

I recommend designing the Character in Modular fashion and charge by the Part/Piece. With this approach you could distribute the authoring of Parts and offer accessory pack add ons further down the road.

Assuming you’re starting from scratch…

BodyBase Body - 150
Animated Face - 100
PhotoRealistic Skinshader 50
Hair 10

Garments

Under Shirt - 10
Over Shirt - 15
Jacket - 20
Pants - 20
Socks - 5
Boots - 15

Armor Package: ~150
Part List
Chest & Back Plate
Upper/Lower Torso Plates
Shoulder Plates
Upper & Lower Arm Sleeves
Upper & Lower Leg Sleeves

Just figure out your hourly rate and then estimate how many hours it will take, increase that a little bit because it’ll probably take longer than you think

People that do freelance 3d modeling for a living generally charge $25-75 an hour. Even if you are new to it, don’t undercharge for your time.
