Hi, i have a character I’m using as an AI, and i have the default third person AnimBP applied to it. In the character’s skeletal mesh, i applied the same ABP.
In the blueprint viewport, as well as in the game, the character is stuck in the A pose.
Do you guys know if I’m missing something? I really don’t know what else to try, and i can’t find anything online.
I’m following a Udemy course doing this. He’s in UE4 and I’m in 5. Could that be a cause?
I would greatly appreciate any and all help.
Thanks guys
Can you show the begin play event of that anim blueprint?
Hi, thanks for the quick reply. I tried a different SKM. I put in one that I wasn’t supposed to use and haven’t been using for anything and somehow it works. I have no idea why.
If you still want to see I can show you. I might not be able to reply until tomorrow but I’ll try. Thanks a bunch for replying.
not necessary, what i thought wouldn’t matter if what you said is working.
It sounds like perhaps you have the UE5 ABP but had the UE4 skeletal mesh perhaps? They aren’t compatible directly (though you can retarget them).
Oh…OK yeah that makes sense. Animations are my Achilles heal. I’m planning on putting a good amount of time into learning the whole system/process. But I can’t find any good tutorials or courses. Do you know of any good ones?
Thanks for clearing that up for me!
usually entering a new area in unreal i see if epic has some official ones for the subject, i’ll just watch those to get a sense what’s possible, basics of how things are meant to be used.
just check in the “learning” tab area for epic content. older stuff from around 2015 is still good, they made a lot of tutorials then dont think just because its not ue5 that its not relevant.
