Character skin disappears on re-import, can't bring it back

I have an issue in UE 5.5 with my skeletal mesh not importing the skin from Blender. It worked once but When I reimported to fix a weight paint issue, the skin went POOF. Doesn’t matter if I apply modifiers on export or not, I get skeleton, clothes, eyes and hair. Character looks like a Nazgul.

Yeah, this sounds like the usual Unreal and Blender scenario. These two don’t have the best relationship, but we can try to find a solution.

The usual approach that’s followed around the community, would be to reset export/import settings in both UE and Blender, in order to rule out any conflicts between either configuration. After that, test importing your mesh and skin again.

If the issue persists, please test the method detailed here, it’s mainly intended for rigged/animated assets, but I have find it useful for anything related with skeletal meshes.
