Character seems to float when walking around in level

I made a basic hallway. I’m trying to gauge how long it is and if the dimensions are correct. When I click Play to move around the level, the camera “floats” instead of the player actually walking.

Am I missing something? Would I need to place a character from the first person template? When I created the hallway I used a blank blueprint.

Figured it out. I used the first person template and dragged the FirstPersonCharacter into the level. Now when I click on play I actually walk around the level.

Drag a player start into the level.

When I add “player start” to the level and click on play, the camera still flies around instead of “walking”.
