Character Mesh Flickering in Sequencer - Unreal Engine 5

Hi everyone,
Please find attachment

I’m experiencing an issue with my character mesh flickering in the Sequencer in Unreal Engine 5. As you can see in the attached image, the character’s head is flickering, leading to some parts of the mesh not rendering properly. This problem occurs consistently when I try to animate the character in the scene.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Verified that the character mesh is properly imported.
  • Checked the animation settings to ensure there’s no conflict.
  • Ensured there are no overlapping meshes that might cause this issue.
  • Adjusted the level of detail (LOD) settings, but the flickering persists.

I’m using Metahuman for the character and the flickering seems to be more pronounced when the camera moves closer to the character.

Has anyone faced a similar issue or does anyone have suggestions on how to resolve this?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi ,

Thanks for sharing the issue and the steps you’ve taken so far. To help resolve the flickering, consider the following:

  • Check for duplicate vertices or faces in the character mesh.

  • Verify Metahuman settings: Ensure proper configuration and update to the latest version.

  • Adjust Sequencer settings: Try changing the frame rate, resolution, or disabling motion blur.

  • Test with a different camera: Rule out camera-specific issues.

  • Seek community help: Post on Unreal Engine forums or Reddit for more assistance.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, please provide more details or a sample project for further investigation.
