Greetings all.
first i have to let you guys know that I’m still at Amateur level in using unreal, I did try to look for guides\docs\answerhub and I haven’t found any similar post about this error, so either I don’t know some basics in importing characters or this is a new kind of error.
and the problem is this, I have that character that I built all by myself, did some animation and i want to import it to the project.
when i’m importing the character itself i get this massage:
BUT, the character looks to get imported with no real issues
but then when I ty to import the animation i get this:
and the imports fails.
I’m using Maya2017
this is was basically my workflow:
in importing the character i made sure to separete the mesh from the skeleton, and made sure the the import completed with no errors from Maya.
also i made sure the the rig didn’t have any controllers - as from what i gather, Unreal cant “read” controllers
I have made sure that after sepereting the controllers from the rig that the animation is working smoothly and I also used “Bake Animation” before importing
and i did export the character and the animation as separate files (FBX2014 of course)
please let me know what I’m missing here for it to work
