I am trying to make a simple car and while most things seem to work nicely, the engine is a bit of a mystery. When in neutral gear, pressing the throttle barely makes the rpm go up. One would expect that the rpm would quickly reach the max engine rpm when the wheels are disconnected, but it seems that it barely moves the needle. Am I missing something?
I see this was a long time ago now but did you ever find a solution to it?
I’m using the chaos vehicle plugin and have noticed that when I’m in gear the engine revs up to the max RPM (2500) no problem, but when I am in neutral the engine will only rev up to 1012 even when my throttle input is 1.0
(EDIT) I’m coming back to this a couple of hours later just to say I think I found something, I can’t claim to understand how it works / the maths behind it but it seems like adjusting the Engine Rev Up MOI and the Engine Rev Down Rate affect the engine’s ability to reach max revs while in neutral, and in fact if you really mess these numbers up you can go way over your max revs.. which seems like a bug
