Chaos objects suddenly don't fracture in packaged build, UE 5.4

Hi there, I hope this is the right place to post: I was working on my chaos objects, adjusting them in-editor and then packaging to properly test. It was working for awhile, but suddenly my packaged build’s chaos buildings no longer fracture. The object that always caused the fracture still hits, but now the object stays intact while lagging the game perpetually, almost like chaos is trying to run or is running, but not properly in-build.

I’ve verified my UE version, re-packaged with re-build on, re-cooked, adjusted geometry collection settings back and forth, turned async on and off… but no matter what I do the chaos works fine in-editor, but does not work properly in the packaged build.

Any ideas?? I remember reading that geo collections sometimes bug out and to fix you need to remake them; this would be my third time having to do that for other reasons (inconsistency with destruction, anchor fields not working consistently), and I hoped that I wouldn’t have to do it again.

IT’S WORKING, rogue tick box in “Geometry Collection” > “Rendering” > “Strip Source Data On Cook”. In hindsight of course that would cause issues, but I was so set on improving performance that I didn’t even consider the consequences. YAY
