This is my first post on here, please forgive me if I am in the wrong place!
Seeing Unreal Engine 4 evolve is so inspiring! I’ve been using 4.23 and Chaos Destruction for some projects. I’ve made the upgrade to 4.25, but I can’t seem to get Chaos to cache the simulation. It just won’t record the simulation even if you set the “Cache Mode” to “Record” or “Record and Play”.
The 4.23 Chaos Destruction is a demo and there are many functions still under development. I guess that you would not see this feature before it is officially released. There are several problems happened during my development process, 1. the cache simulation only works with any actor with Z vector above 0 into your level 2.the baked cache simulation data seems to record the world position of geometry collection actor, which means if you place your geometry collection actor on a specific place in the world, the destructive animation still play on its original world location instead of its local position. Sad! I hope those problems would be solved soon.
Thank you so much for your reply and insight! I take it these updates that Epic has advertised about Chaos is just for their internal use only? Why don’t we get these Chaos updates with the 4.25 and more? It is a very interesting situation.
I am happy to hear that someone else is using Chaos!
