I imported a skeleton and everything was fine and dandy; the mesh shown when you pull up the skeleton was the character as it should be. I’ve used the same skeleton for the various clothing parts (ie gloves, pants, belt, over shirt, and so on.) but I deleted the original MESH that when with the skeleton. I reimported the mesh using its already present skeleton in the project. Now when I open up the skeleton, it shows just the gloves (which I’m sure it just defaulted to when the engine couldn’t find the original). My question is, can I tell the skeleton to use a specific mesh to default to when I open it up? Right now, it makes things REALLY difficult to work with when all I see are floating gloves.
Open the mesh for the skeleton you want to be as the default mesh, in the top menu click on the “Set Preview” button and it will set that mesh as the default mesh for the skeleton. Then save the skeleton again
Whoops, sorry about that missed the bit that you are using 4.14, the new way to do it is by clicking the drop arrow at the top corner by the view selector and then click on scene setup and then select your preview mesh there.
