Is there no way to change the number of partitions/regions?
Is the only way to create an entirely new level?
Trying to change from 4 to 9 regions.
Hi Astaraa, Unfortunately, you can’t directly change the number of World Partition regions after creating a level. The grid resolution is defined at level creation based on the initial world size and cell size.
So yes, the only way to change the number of regions (like going from 4 to 9) is to:
- Create a new level with different World Partition settings.
- Then migrate your content into the new level.
Cell Size
“Determines the size of the grid cells that are used to generate the streaming Levels. In the example, the Cell Size is 256 square meters.”

I’ve been pretty lost about sizing with World Partition.
Trying to understand that a little better. I tried advice from ChatGPT but I don’t think it gets WP very well. It suggests very large sizes for better performance on an 8x8km landscape. Which doesn’t seem practical ending up wth 4 regions.
Maybe default settings would be better after all.
