I have been playing about more with animation lately and am quite happy with fill rigs and using Mixamo and the like. However, FPS arms seem to be causing me an issue. I know I can use a 3rd person character as the FPS model but this is something that has been frustrating me for so long I really would like to solve it.
For the purposes of this post I will use the 1st person template but I have tried with my own blank project also. I have downloaded Rigged FPS arms and imported them, the skeleton is created and everything looks ok:

I use the humanoid rig and point all the appropriate bones to it. I then retarget the FPS idle animation (from the FPS template) and my arms appear:

However, when my animation is complete I just jet two ridiculous looking blobs and not the arms as expected

Like I say I am more than happy importing characters and animations and using those. However, this has me stumped…why does the animation from the default arms not apply to the new arms even with a rig?
