Would it be possible to create a system where in a day and night cycle we can have one level/environment during the day and another level/environment during the night?
I aim to learn a system where I can have one level during the day and another during the night. Thank you in advance for the answers.
Greetings @CAPRIK270! Let’s see what we can do here.
Your inquiry regarding switching environments between day/night can be fulfilled in a variety of ways. A quick approach can be found in the following community guide:
This one won’t change the environment drastically though. From my testing, this video tutorial should allow you to create the cycle you are aiming for:
Sounds expensive, you’d have to have BP for all your static meshes or if you have a landscape,
that will disappear and disable collision at a certain time while at the same time another that enables them
There would be a lag spike if the level is bigger than a certain size, your almost better off loading an entirely different level, than doubling the size of your current level
Or if you just meant a regular day night cycle where the “sun” moves 5.5 supports this easily now, you just use the level blueprint and rotate the directional light (“Sun”)
so if your making a game i would sum up and say No not practically
if your doing a film project… i would say yeah
