Changing effects quality restarts Niagara Systems?

Hi,

I’m using Unreal Engine 5.4.3.

I recently found out that changing the effects quality restarts any Niagara system that’s currently alive. I’ve tried searching through the Niagara scalability settings to figure out why this happens but can’t seem to find any reason to why it happens. Is there any way to not restart Niagara systems on an effects quality change? This happens both when changing the effects quality paused and unpaused. Would love some help on this!

The same thing happens with cascase particle systems too, in UE4 :frowning:

Hi, do you have any progress on it? I am wondering which part of code is related with this restart

I’m saying, it happens when you change the “effects quality” as it is called in Unreal Engine’s scalability settings.

There is a node called “Set Visual Effects Quality” in game user settings, changing that restarts any particle systems that are currently active/playing
