Great effects! I have one question though - is it possible to set distance fog to use distance from something else other than the camera ? In my particular case I’d like to set fog to be distance from the player rather than the camera (top-down game).

Thank you! Unfortunately no. Pivot points for all ā€œdistanceā€ effects are main camera.

Hi, just wanted to say this plugin looks absolutely amazing. Quick questions:

  1. Is it possible to edit the material values at run-time (like having the strength of an effect increase over time via blueprint).

  2. Will I run into any issues if I wanted to use this on a Paper 2D setup? I assume not. I know certain effects are for a 3D environment, but for example, if I wanted to use the ā€œGlitchā€ effect, I shouldn’t run into any issues using it with Paper 2D would I?

Hi,

Glad you like it! All exposed Chameleon variables can be changed by other blueprint. Some of the effects in this package requires depth information to behave properly (eg: Pulse Effect). However most of the effects would work normally since everything is happening after scene render completed. No matter what are you rendering (excluding UMG & Slate)

Any update on the changes to alleviate the hitches the asset causes every 60 seconds?

I’d love to make more use of it, but without the new update it isn’t really usable.

IMPORTANT: There’s a bug in 4.11 preventing me using SetTextureParameterValue blueprint node which is highly used in Chameleon. I’ve reported and confirmed this problem as a bug (see: https://answers.unrealengine.com/questions/393895/settextureparametervalue-node-is-not-working-anymo-1.html). I can’t submit the package until this bug resolved. It’s basically doesn’t allow me to change any texture parameter from the blueprint. However, if anyone needs freeze fix mentioned earlier in this thread, drop me a pm and i’ll send fixed blueprint part ASAP. Sorry for the situation but there’s nothing to do with me. I hope that guys at Epic will solve this quickly. Fingers crossed…
