Hi Everyone,
Chameleon V5.0 is now available for download. It’s time to hit that button! : )
Thanks and looking good! Can’t we use Chameleon V5.0 with UE4.13 or is it UE4.14 only?
Hi BarisT,
Chameleon 5.0 is 4.14 only. All Chameleon updates are compatible only with the latest engine versions at the time that update was released.
, how do you get the sonar to pulse? Whenever I enable it, it is set at a certain distance. Could you show me an example blueprint to make it as it is in the example video? Thank you.
Hi,
Here it is. Just created a new Blueprint Actor named “ChameleonController” and referenced my Chameleon actor (placed on map) from this new actor. Also created an integer variable named “Speed” in the “ChameleonController” actor to control pulse speed. It’s just for giving you an idea on how to control Chameleon parameters from any other blueprint. You can access all variables in Chameleon including Enabling/Disabling effects. Please let me know if you need to know anything else. I hope it helps.

Thanks! This should help.
Just uploaded final animation gif also : )
I can’t find the Components thing on the right bar for ChameleonController to be hooked with ChameleonOnScene. How do I do that?
(In Image 1)
Can you show inside of your blueprint? It’s in the “Components” section because i’ve manually moved it in to Components group in Blueprint editor. If you didn’t do that then yours should be in the “Default” section, not “Components”.
NEW FEATURE: I’m excited to announce that Chameleon’s new Blending Modes and Opacity options will be available with next release! I have a lot requests from you guys for these two features and here it is. Here’s a screen from the latest development build.
&stc=1I’m still a relative noob so can you walk me through this? I have the Chameleon Actor and an empty actor called ChameleonOnScene. What do I do from here? A step-by-step would be great, sorry
Looks great! Looking forward to it
Worked perfectly! <3 Thanks
I’ve been tinkering with it, and I’m not sure how to make it repeat the pulse on a keypress (Q key). I’m attempting to make it reset the time variable when it gets to a certain distance but it isn’t working correctly. Any ideas? Sorry for bombarding you with questions but I don’t know where to ask, haha
You may want to check this page for using the user defined timers in blueprints: https://docs.unrealengine.com/latest/INT/Gameplay/HowTo/UseTimers/Blueprints/
Thanks, I’ll take a look. Does the post process have an option to send out multiple sonars?
Best way to do this would be to place multiple Chameleon’s on your Level and control their parameters separately.
Alright, thanks. Now to help you out for a second: Some of the English on your Chameleon market page could be better worded. I’m assuming you’re not a native English speaker, and that’s OK! I taught my dad a lot of English. Anyways, to help you out:
More commonly this would be “For unlimited possibilities” as unlimit isn’t a word, although it sounds like one.
Next one:
On this one, where I highlighted, it would be better as “LOOK! Color Grading Pack is worth $24.99 if you buy it separately.” Solely is correct, but not a commonly used term in marketing. The reason you wouldn’t use “of” before the $24.99 is because of is used for part of a whole. Since there is no whole value, it is not correct. Also, Monochrome would be better used than “Monochroma”.
For the final one,
it’s not good grammar to start a sentence with “So”. Usually it would be best to place a comma before the use of “so”. It would be better phrased as “Access to all native Unreal Post Process settings, so you only need one actor for native effects.” And with “to your map”, this is technically correct, but would be best as “on your map” as “to” is for movement and “on” is for being attached or combined with.
I’m not attacking you or anything, just thought I’d help the person who helped me so much! Feel free to update it or not, I don’t care. Have a great day!
