CC4 Smart Hair to Metahuman

Hello Everyone,

I have exported a chnaracter from CC4 to UE5.

I would like to take the hair from this character and implemente this one in my Metahuman .
Is this possible ?

  1. Export both the MetaHuman and CC4 characters to Blender.
  2. Transfer the CC4 hair mesh to the MetaHuman character’s head in Blender, adjusting it as needed for a proper fit.
  3. Export only the modified hair mesh from Blender to Unreal Engine.
  4. Open the MetaHuman Blueprint in Unreal Engine.
  5. Follow the tutorial at Customise your MetaHuman | Unreal Engine 5 Tutorial (youtube.com): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_ZjsUg2XCc&t=1198s to attach the hair mesh to the MetaHuman.

Note:

  • Direct hair simulation in Unreal Engine won’t be possible with this method, as it’s a static mesh.
  • To enable hair simulation, you’ll need to find a way to export the hair as a grooming asset from Blender.
  • If you discover a method for exporting hair as a grooming asset, please share it!
