Could desktop sharing be part of the virtual spaces (like a TV within the 3D world) rather than an overlay?

Is it possible to replace the robot mesh with something more human?

Does it work in standalone VR/Desktop crossplay?

Thanks!

Yes, the video streaming (webcam, desktop share, window share, app share) arrives as a UTexture2D, which can be easily be used as part of a material. The overlay we provide, as a U/I example, is just using that UTexture2D.

We have previously implemented (as a demo and as a customer-specific app) a “Video Board” which allowed you to add, move, and resize video boards at run-time, and then select which WebRTC source you would like to stream to that video board.

Absolutely, you can replace the default avatar system with something of your own that allows for the multi-user copresence to synchronize the avatar animations for remote users.
You can simply change the mesh or replace the avatar system, making sure to note how we implement the properties synchronization (for co-presence and the animations).

We will soon release an update that makes tying co-presence (position/scale/rotation, head & controller tracking, and animation synchronization) of your avatar system even easier, if not automatic.

Yes! We are independent of the client type. You can have users that are Local-desktop, PCVR, Native XR, Pixel-Streamed-desktop, Web client, and Streamed VR, all joining the same “Space” or experience and collaborating with full spatial co-presence.

Don’t hesitate to reach out for any development and/or deployment help!
