Carmageddon Reincarnation My Project

Hey guys, I decided to create a game in this wonderful engine called Carmageddon Reincarnation from pre-alpha on YouTube, and I would like to cooperate with you, to make it look cool I will send videos to YouTube as private, so that you can rate my work. Thanks for the ratings.
And another question, how to visualize these artifacts in the sky?
I’m a bit of an amateur, so please give me honest answers, is this possible?

However back on Carma clone. Do not name it carmageddon, do not use carmageddon word in your code. Yes you can do clone of a game, but do not admit it esp in code/title.

And instead of recreating levels, just do some starting level (like that one streamed in with landscape). Then instead of level, sky artifacts etc. focus on physics of car, driving and replication of it/multiplayer. Do that first.

Recently, my Polish compatriots made Silent Hill 2 and there is no problem with it, they just called it Remake and no one complains. Why is there nothing wrong with my title?

That is just to be safe, you never know what kind of people own copyrights to Carmageddon. Why take risk if you can just make bunch of names easily:

They (bloober team) worked with Konami to make the remake. Unless you have permission to make a game based on the Carmageddon intellectual property, from the license holder then you will be infringing on IP.

You may get a cease and desist letter to stop your work.

Currently THQ Nordic seems to hold the license for the ip

Well, I’ll change it to some other title, and as for my project. It’s probably not that bad ;/. Unless you can help me improve it somehow. What should I improve, apart from the lack of landscape?

What do you want us to say? It’s an empty template with some cubes and badly scaled textures :person_shrugging:

What should I do, make more maps, improve textures and then show them? I’m just starting my adventure with this engine, so please be understanding.At the very beginning I mentioned my amateurism and poor English.

  • make 1 map blockout that is half decent, don’t worry about textures, lighting, assets, sound; need inspiration? - use Google Maps to block out a chunk of your hometown; even the original game had elevation and recognisable points of interest
  • make 2 cars that drive differently
  • make an NPC car and have AI drive it around the map
  • add a basic power up that makes you go faster for 5s
    • learn how inheritance works, you’ll need it
    • learn how actor components work, you’re gonna need them, too!
  • add a basic damage system - a health bar is enough for now
  • add a basic damage system for the NPC
  • have those 2 :point_up: systems interact
  • make a win / lose condition - start thinking about a rudimentary game loop

I mentioned my amateurism

In which case the above will keep you busy for half a year if you’re really good at it.

But I have a good channel on YouTube Polish, where the user makes guides, he created a lot of them, and I can master it really quickly. I really want to create this realistic game, I could earn a lot of money haha.But don’t be mad or anything because my project,I will take any criticism with calm, looks like it’s going to be Halloween tomorrow hehe

Make the game first, then worry about something utterly irrelevant like an anisotropic / aliasing shimmer or shadowing artefacts. See my list, focus on that. What you’re showing looks exactly like what you had before…
