Cardboard City

Hi guys!

This is my finished level on a project I intent to finish as a game with an open world on an island with a big city and a rural area. All the assets and artwork is done by me, I’ve used in editor sky box and the water is from a pack on the learning hub. All the rest is done and tweaked by me. Because the pics are big and I can’t upload them all here, here is the link to the whole project uploaded on different galleries on Artstation: ArtStation - Ink in the City (Cardboard City Project)
I hope you will like this. It took 7 months to complete and I’ve tried to show that you can create a a fairly big open world game or level by yourself if you have a smooth workflow and a good knowledge of the software you are using. In Unreal Engine 4 the sky is the limit!
Those technical details can be found in the description from Artstation too but I list it here too:
-approx. 18.000 actors on the level
-One general Post Process Volume and more alike Post Process Volumes for underwater view
-Biggest lightmap res. size on the level: 1024 attributed to a single actor
-Lightmap res. sizes raging from 4 to 1024, mostly 256 and 512 were used.
-All textures have 12 levels of streaming and a resolution of 2048x2048
-All types of lighting used: Static, Stationary and Dynamic. One Dynamic, very few static for color light projection on shadows (Bar/Cathedral) and street lights - stationary.
-Map Check on last light build (7 hours): 3 warnings on 3 stationary lights (I recon it’s a bug from the directional lighting as the stationary lights that have the warning are not overlaying other stationary lights or more than 1)
-12 ground materials
-9 enter-able buildings
-8 trees, 6 flowers, 2 grass variation, 1 bush.

Tell me what you think!

King Regards,
