car dash board

Hi All,

Has anyone experience of photogrammetry on a car dash board/interior. Ive tried a coupe of attempts and get quite a few holes in some areas, like areas on the top which is just large areas of slightly mottled soft plastic. Ive taken around 230 photos, starting at the windscreen then moving right to left along the dash, then down and back from left to right, and continue. Also adding a few printed targets stuck on surfaces, about 6 in total.
Any ideas what im doing wrong? Ive tried brightening up the source images. Thinking i just need a lot more photos?
Thanks

There is not enough surface detail on the photos.

Add a lot of post-it note stickers with squiggles on them in random places to give the software something to work with.

That should dramatically improve your alignment and reconstruction results.

You also want at least 60% overlap between photos. Preferrably 70-80%.

Thanks, will give it another go with small post-it notes. Quite tricky to get a camera in to all the areas to be honest.
