Capturing with GoPro Fusion??

hello,

is it possible to capturing with GoPro Fusion [360 degree spherical images or video] on the latest version of RealityCapture?

thanks.

hello, this feature has not been released yet: https://support.capturingreality.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360009265471-Accept-180-degree-and-360-degree-spherical-images-as-input

so … its really needs to capturing large environments … like as bazaars :]
i’m hope to see this feature soon …

I have used RC with images from GoPro Fusion with pretty good results.

Just import the two raw images (not the stitched images) into RC. Experiment with the camera model (Brown4 + tangential worked well for me).

The resolution of the GoPro Fusion is pretty low, so don’t expect a super high res mesh, but it does work.

I have set the GoPro Fusion to time-lapse mode, and have it take one image every second as I walk around the space I want to capture.

@aonsen

hi,
thanks for reply :]

you mean directly import images from SD Cards?

and can you post screenshots of some of your Fusion results? [i mean RC model results screenshot]

Hello Davood,

Here’s some images.

The texture looks very washed out and dull because the GoPro Fusion records the images in a flat color space. The GoPro Fusion Studio stitching app does some color correction to bring back the original colors, but you can always color correct the texture files in Photoshop if you wanted.

Just remember to use “Brown4 with tangential2” for the Distortion Model when you align the images.

wow … its really good for game env. :]

The result is great!

I litterally struggle to achieve the same result with some 360 travelling videos…

Are you able to share one GoPro Fusion raw/source file to understand what kind of the projection is it ?

Maybe I will compare it with my video file to set the same projection.

It seems that MANY of users would like to see a 360 photo support feature and it seems that you succeded well!

Thank you !

I did a write-up on my processing steps.

Processing images from video is always a bad idea since the compression used on video removes A LOT of the image detail needed for alignment, so I would stay away from using video as your source conent.
