Can't set sword on hand

Hey guys, sorry if this is the wrong area for this kinda post, but it is somewhat animation related.
I have this problem I need help with :frowning:
Basically, I’m trying to attach a weapon onto the hand, I’ve done this before through a 3rd person mode different model, but this is another model and it’s a top down layout. Here’s a video of what my problem looks like

I uploaded screenshots of:

  1. the skeleton with the weapon socket correctly input
  2. the weapon in blueprint class
  3. the code on my character blueprint of this sword

Few things, I’m not very good at coding, i’m a complete novice at unreal, I basically try to learn from others and copy what others do via videos, and so that’s where that code came from, it could be the issue, but maybe not.
My character scaling is very small, not intended, it just happened that way making her through makehuman and then uploading to mixamo, i’d hate to rescale her and redo all the animations and everything again if it’s necessary, which I hope not. That’s why on the weapon blueprint, the sword is very small, scaled with the character.

It’s basically waving in the air not even close to the character, is there something I’m missing? cause I don’t think so. I did this just fine on another project but this time all of a sudden it doesn’t wanna work, could be due to the scaling, but even if I make the character larger, it won’t fit. so I don’t know what to do, help :frowning: thanks a lot in advance <3 :slight_smile:
