Please try verifying install of engine through Launcher; go to Library page in Launcher, click on drop down menu of engine slot, and click Verify. If editor still crashes after launching, we’d like to take a look at logs, which you can find here:
Note that Library is hidden on OSX by default, but you can reach it by holding Option key down while in Go menu for Finder. Just and attach that folder after you get this crash again.
If Crash Reporter comes up, please copy/paste that information here as well, and make sure you hit Send. Thanks!
I tried verifying, but nothing changed.
I checked folder you said, but there was nothing.
No Unreal Engine/Editor folder.
error message I got again is same I posted before.
Does iris 6100 make a problem? I’m just trying to build a game for ios.
This is a bug: [UE-13664] for reference.
Hi, I have same issue currently.
What means [UE-13664] ? please give me URL.
Same issue here. Found referenced logs: /storage/temp/38518-ue4-backup-2015.04.12-17.49.39.log ue4.log. file wouldn’t upload.
UE-13664 refers to our internal bug report database, which is not currently accessible outside Epic. We post it mostly so we can quickly refer to it when needed.
I took a look at bug report, and it seems it is already fixed internally and fix should be included in next release (likely 4.8 or a 4.8 preview). bug should only affect versions 4.7.4 and 4.7.5, so if you’re able to grab 4.7.3 build from GitHub and build from source, you’ll still be able to use editor in meantime.
Thanks for catching up! I will try manually build from source.
Hi jarinosuke and/or Varioov,
We are including a fix for this crash in upcoming 4.7.6 Hotfix. However, we haven’t been able to reproduce this crash on any of our Mac hardware, so we cannot actually confirm fix. We would really appreciate if you could test fix for us before we release it to everyone, and let us know if it resolves issue on your Mac.
[EDIT] Steps removed. We were able to verify issue is not fix yet. We will keep you posted.
I’ll try this out as well tonight. For reference, I’m also running a 2015 13" retina ( core i5/8GB RAM/128GB SSD variant) and experiencing crash. Reverting to 4.6 fixed crash.
Thanks! Please let us know your results. If crash does still occur, please include your application logs with your response.
Unable to find application named ‘pplabel=Production-Staged’
After inputing command, it showed message above.
Did I input wrong?
Hi Varioov, we have removed testing build since we determined that potential fix was not successful. We will reach out if we need additional help testing again.
We have a new hotfix in staging that is available for testing. If you can please test it and let us know if it resolves crash, that would be appreciated.
- Open Terminal on your Mac and add following command line:
- open /Applications/Epic\ Games\ Launcher.app/ -applabel=Production-4.7.6
This should allow launcher to download staged hotfix version 4.7.6-2513093.
Thanks for your help.
Thank you, I was able to download and crash no longer happens, but command I had to run was
open -a /Applications/Epic\ Games\ Launcher.app/ --args --applabel=Production-4.7.6
dormers thanks, I was able to run with command you said and no crash happened.
This fixed issue for me as well.
Thanks for testing fix, everyone. We’ll have a new 4.7.6 Hotfix officially released soon.
