Can't run Mac builds

Update Sep 7th: I’m pleased to report that since 4.9.0 this problem is fixed.

Hi all,

I’m running UE 4.8.0 on Mac OSX 10.10.3. I’ve been doing the 2D side scrolling platformer recent Twitch stream from Epic and I wanted to build the game and run it on its own, just to try out the build process (I’m coming from the Unity world, so I’m used to 1-click builds). The trouble is, although the build completed successfully (according to the output log) I can’t run the game. When I double-click the .app file nothing happens. No output, no errors, no window.

I thought I’d try building one of the template files but those do the same thing, so I wonder if it’s just my newbieness coming through. I’ve tried the first person, top-down, 3rd person and flying blueprint projects.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

Regards,
Wayne

Something I should have mentioned before was that I actually have no idea how to even debug this issue, so even any debugging tips would be very welcome.

-Could you post the output log?
-does it work with the 4.7 version of the engine?
-make sure to package your game like it is shown on this doc page: https://docs.unrealengine/latest/INT/Engine/Basics/Projects/Packaging/index.html
