I have been trying to download Unreal Engine for a while and due to my slow internet I decided to leave it overnight and woke up to something quite weird… The download isn’t showing a percentage its showing a resume button that no matter how much i click it wont resume the download. I have no way of knowing how much it has downloaded overnight and would rather not restart download as doing some rough math the download of 4 GB should take around 12 hours.
I don’t live alone so the download or internet connection may have been tampered with by my brother…
I previously had problems with not being able to download the launcher and used this fix → http://bit.ly/1UDZP9k
Also here is my DxDiag → link text
Also if I click the resume button SOMETIMES the task manager shows unreal using network…
Same here… hopefully they’ll fix that bug
Hi HazemAhmed_2000:
I recommend restarting your entire system, re-opening the Launcher, and attempt to redownload and install UE4.12.2. Most of the time it will pick up where it left off unless the previous file was corrupted by an abrupt shutdown, in which case, you would have had to start over anyway.

Hello ,
I don’t think you quite understood what i meant when i say stuck on resume… its stuck! no matter how many times I restart the PC or End the “launcher” task I cant get it to start downloading again…
If there is no hope in returning to the download, one more question is there anyway I could download unreal not through the launcher ?
Yes, I did not understand the depth of it being “stuck.”
I see you are running Direct X12 on Windows 10… Have you ever had this working? If not, you will need to make sure you are running UE4 in DirectX 12 mode by right clicking on the EU4 Launcher icon and, in Properties, adding (space)-dx12 to the end of the target field like this:
“D:\Program Files\Epic Games\Launcher\Portal\Binaries\Win64\EpicGamesLauncher.exe” -dx12
Once you’ve established that you are running in DX12 Mode, if you are still experiencing issues:
Uninstall the Launcher from PC>Start>Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall or Change a Program. Afterwards, go to the install directory and manually delete any folders that were not removed, if any. Restart your system. Then reinstall the Launcher.
After adjusting to run in DX12 mode, then retry downloading, installing, and verifying UE4.12.2.
If you are finding it impossible to install UE4.12 from the Launcher, you have the option of downloading the source through Github:

Hello,
sorry its been a while and I haven’t got back to you all but I’ve been busy and frankly haven’t had the time… However I did try your “fix” which resulted in the launcher failing to “launch” (Ironically…) entirely…
Adding the -dx12 at the end of the target simply tells the Launcher to run in in DX12 mode. If this is causing an issue, all you need do is delete the “-dx12.”

why everytime i install or update unreal it wont start without problem, each time have to face so many problems and bla bla bla. stupid things and bugs. hope some day will loose all the unreal user. i tried so many times to resume my download but all my efforts in vain. cant believe unreal any more.
Sorry to hear you are having experiencing so many issues with UE4. The best strategy for success is to start and finish a project in the same version of the Engine. If you want to use a newer version of the Engine, start a new project in that version.
If you absolutely must update to use a certain fix or feature, make sure you “stair-step” by updating to the next version and working out issues there instead of skipping a version; For instance, you should update sequentially in the following manner UE4.10, UE4.11, UE4.12 making sure to identify and resolve issues in the current version before moving on.
If you are having problems adding newer versions of the engine, we have focused our efforts in the link above to provide a thorough database of known resolutions to issues as well as a way to contact someone for support if all else fails.
This Problem happened to me a while back… but i managed to fix it by just downloading the engine at day and what it was
that once the download is done, it demands admin rights but if you are a sleep not to click yes the adminstrator tab will go away and the download will fail so i managed to download it by day. sorry to say that
