Can't open Animation Interface

I am using Maya 2014 student version. I have used ART before with no problems on this version of Maya.

Now I can’t open the Animation Interface window to control the rig features like IK/Fk switching. When I click “Animation Interface” a error window prompts with “No Characters found in scene. Would you like to add a character now?”

I don’t want to add a character because the character is in the scene already (It’s the mannequin sample assets). I can accept and add a new character with no problems. The animation interface opens up. I have to go find the Mannequin_Export.mb that is being referenced.

The only problem at this stage is that FK on the arms don’t work. They just stay in IK mode with world space, no matter what options I choose. I do get this error when selecting the FK mode in the rig settings tab…

“# Error: ValueError: file E:/Autodesk/UE4/MayaTools/General/Scripts\ART_animationUI.py line 6274: No object matches name: Mannequin:hand_match_loc_r”

If I troubleshoot my way into using IK mode on the arms instead of FK, i get this error when pressing the IK Mode option button…

“// Warning: Cycle on ‘Mannequin:auto_clav_switch_loc_r_pointConstraint1.constraintTranslateX’ may not evaluate as expected. (Use ‘cycleCheck -e off’ to disable this warning.)”

The IK arms are in “Body” space orientation in rig settings, but operate as they would in “World” space orientation. The arms stay in world space orientation even if i choose clavicle space orientation.

I can open another character for animation for a different project, which has a mesh bound to the joints. And the FK/IK functions work correctly for her. The animation interface opens up as expected. Everything operates as it should.

This mannequin asset was saved in a file and given to me. I also had this same problem with another ART asset with a bound skin that was given to me. The female character that does work for me was my own project with my own assets. She is first created out of these 3.

Hey there! I replied to this on the main ART thread, but you provided some additional info here that was helpful. As I mentioned in the other reply, your issue with the interface not opening is most likely due to you not having icons, since you said the files was given to you. If you can get the icons from the creator, or create some yourself, it will fix the issue.
