I’m using my MacBook Pro which is assembled in mid 2015 to launch the unreal engine 4.25.3, but it crashes every time. In fact, even the crash report window can’t pop up, I can only see the crash report app through my Activity Monitor. The OS I’m using is High Sierra version 10.13.6. Attached please find the log files.
Any one can shed some light on this problem?
Many thanks in advance.
(P.S: Before UE 4.25, I also tried UE 4.10, but UE 4.10 crashed on launch, too.)
I opened the packet contents of the Epic Launcher and then just started opening things at random. In a terminal window, I’d typed in “open” and then dragged over what looked like the Launcher file. It started up and then bailed out leaving me with that error message.
Oh, I just checked my history. Here’s what I’ve got:
open /Applications/Epic\ Games\ Launcher.app/Contents/MacOS/EpicGamesLauncher-Mac-Shipping
Since then, I found the dmg file for installing OS X 10.14 on Apple’s site (searched Mojave dmg) and installed it on a partition. Unreal now launches.
BE WARNED: If you upgrade from OS X 10.13, know that 32-bit app support ends with X 10.14… so if you instead upgrade to Catalina OS X 10.15, you will lose some of your older apps that don’t work in 64-bit. Double check my information. Please don’t just go on my word.
