I can’t get unreal engine to launch on my mac, every time I try it crashes and gives me a segv_maperr at 0x3 exception. I’ve googled it and tried various solutions, updated my mac to, got the gfxcardstatus and set to discrete, then set it to integrated. Nothing has worked so far, please help. I’ve attached my crash log
Hi jackasdfasdf,
Thanks for sending the Callstack and Crash report. I’m going to need some additional information in order to further diagnose the issue:
- Please provide more information about your Mac’s specs. You can find this in the Apple menu >About This Mac>More Info> Add the information from this window (serial # not necessary).
- Your Machine ID (You can send this to me as a private message on our : )
- Do you have installed and are you able to open previous versions of the engine?
Thanks,
.
We’re having the same issue. Actually, there is no editor to launch on installation - we did make it launch only after we did a “Verify” after installation and it installed some additional stuff on our disk). And once we did launch it and create a new C++ Third Person program it crashed stating that is did not find any of the core libraries to link into.
I had already posted my problem with linking on XCode here : [Mac] Linking problem with official 4.10 binary - C++ - Unreal Engine Forums. It’s pretty much the same diagnostic there.
Here is my info from “Mon Mac” (translated from French)
Model : MacBook Pro
Model Identifier : MacBookPro11,3
Processor : Intel Core i7
Processor speed : 2,5 GHz
Nb of processors : 1
Nb of cores : 4
Level 2 cache (by core) : 256 Ko
Level 3 cache : 6 Mo
Memory : 16 Go
Startup Rom version : MBP112.0138.B16
SMC Version : 2.19f12
Cheers.
@ jackasdfasdf,
To clarify I did review the contents of your attached zip which included a callstack in the crash report and the MachineGuid, however, the machine I.D. required to to cross-reference our data is located in the Crash Report window. If you can cut and paste this information, it would help out a lot.
Thanks,
.

Since we have not heard back from you in a few days, we are closing this post as resolved for tracking purposes. However, if you are still having a problem launching Unreal 4.10 please respond with the requested information and we will continue to investigate.
