Hi Hannur,

To determine if it is the Launcher or the editor, could you try opening the editor directly?

Your file path may differ but try opening the ‘UE4Editor.exe’ in this folder:

C:\Program Files\Unreal Engine\4.7\Engine\Binaries\Win64

Okay, could you post your dxdiag (system specs), Log, and Dmp files? Also, make sure that you submit the crash report when it prompts you (if you haven’t been doing that already).

Could you make sure your graphics card driver is up to date? Also, be sure to not download the beta driver, they can sometimes be unstable.

Hi Hannur, after a careful look at the code, we can’t seem to find the exact cause (specially as we can’t repro in-house); however I do a workaround for you:

Try changing in the file Engine/Shaders/ShaderVersion.usf, the guid that’s there (just change any number or add more characters). This will force recompiling all shaders.

We’ll be adding more error checking so this doesn’t become a blocker for 4.8.

One more thing to note: is this content you created on an earlier engine version? If so, did you have a plugin or something extra added (not included with the default installation)?
