Can't join summer sale because we launched without discount? [Tentpole sale] Summer sale 2023

Hi.

Due to many reasons, we just launched our game on the epic store 2 days ago without any discounts. One reason is to match our Steam launch, which was also non-discounted.

But now we find out we can’t join the Summer Sale because there are less than 30 days inbetween? 28/06 & 20/07. This is kind of a bummer, especially since we do want to play fair and match the other sales periods on the other platforms (i.e. Steam). I wonder if anyone else had this issue of not being able to join Epic Store driven sales periods after launching, how they handled it and if there are possibilities to work around it…

I know we were the odd ducks not launching discounted, but still a bummer that we’re not able. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for reaching out, I’m sorry to hear about the confusion! Yes, when launching games with our Self-Service Publishing Tools we are currently limited to either utilizing the Introductory offers or waiting after 30 days to go on sale. We do have this outlined in our discounts documentation.
