I recently upgraded from 3ds Max 2025 to 2026. I downloaded the latest datasmith plugin and everytime I try to install it just says “Invalid Drive F:” Then it just gives me the finish button but nothing installs. I have no drive F: on my machine, although I did change drive letters some time ago so maybe that is somehow in conflict?
I have completely uninstalled the Epic Games Launcher and all version of Unreal and re-installed which hasn’t helped. When I tried uninstalling my existing 2025 3ds Max Datasmith plugin I got the same message and it wouldn’t uninstall without the assistance from a Microsoft install/uninstall troubleshooter which did the job.
So now I’m stuck without Datasmith on Max 2025 or 2026 and I really need it. Has anyone come across this issue or know what steps to try next? Pulling my hair out here.
