i decided to try 5.8, but i couldnt access the fab plugin from there, even tho the installed plugins said i could, and no matter what install to engine doesnt work
when i try to uninstall it give me error IS-EO-plat-nofnd:win-2
I installed Unreal Engine 5.8, and the Fab plugin was installed automatically. However, after restarting, it disappeared and I cannot reinstall it. I have tried clearing the cache, as well as completely uninstalling and reinstalling the engine. The exact same thing happened again: Fab disappeared after the reboot and won’t install. I have Windows 11
Can someone just drop a link that gives you the fab plugin file so we can just add it manually
I don’t have a fab button in the editor. Usually it would be in Window->Fab, but it’s not there for me. Additionally, In the editor within the plugins window, I don’t see Fab listed in the plugins. So I’m trying to figure out what’s going on.
In the Epic games launcher, when I click Installed Plugins for 5.8 it shows Fab and Quixel Bridge.
In the Epic Games Launcher within my Fab Library I do see a Fab plugin that can be installed to an engine (this may help you).
I’m currently doing verifying the install of 5.8, with the hopes that fixes it. I’ll restart my PC too.
Maybe the way to access Fab changed? I saw something about place actors panel having a fab button, I’ll try that after verifying finishes. I’ll also compare to what I see with 5.7.
In 5.7 I do have Window->Fab button as well as a button in the content browser. The second button is in the bottom right of the image.
Additionally, I have fab listed in the plugins in the editor.
In file explorer, I do NOT have fab plugin in 5.8, but I do in 5.7. I’m gonna try uninstalling and reinstalling just the plugin and maybe all of 5.8.
I got that same error you got while trying to install the fab plugin from the launcher. I played around with it some more and tried some other things. Imma just wait until 5.8.1, the first patch, and try again.
Something that might work is to copy the plugin folder from 5.7 to 5.8 using file explorer. You may have to edit the ue version in the .uplugin file. Personally, Im gonna wait. I’ve had good luck in the past waiting for the first patched version.
I tried that but since it was compiled for 5.7 it didn’t work so imma stick with 5.7 for now
Same for me. Tried verifying and reinstalling. No dice.
Is this issue going to be resolved soon. Everything works in 5.7. Really wanting to use 5.8 but its hard not being able to use FAB
