Can't import FBX from 3DS Max to UE4

No matter what I try I can’t get this FBx to import to UE4 I tried it as an OBJ, and it went through but all of the bones were seperate so I didn’t have a skeleton to put my animation on and my animation is an .FBX anyway so I can’t Import that. It also added a physics asset for each bone do you think it might have something to do with that? If so how would I go about making a physics asset in 3DS Max? I’m using 3DS Max 2014, I tried converting to an older FBx, which didn’t work and I’m fresh out of Ideas.
