Cant import all blender meshes in to ue5

Hello. I have a blender project that has an imported hand model and I have added a whip in its hand. I added extra bones to the hand rig to animate the whip.


Im a newb to Blender so the hierarchy definitely isn’t good. My issue is when I export to UE5 as an fbx. If I select everything to be exported then its not including the whip, the whip only gets exported if I only select the whip.

I have tried different export settings and nothing changes.

No idea if this is normal but I have noticed that in all of my export attempts unreal only shows the bones that the exported mesh is using.


for example, the arms are exported with the entire rig but the “WhipRig” that was in blender isn’t included in UE5.
