Can't get camera to follow parent object animation

I’ve imported an animation sequence from C4D into UE4, i want to use its movement as a guide for the main camera, but it’s not working. i’ve made the camera a child of the skeletalmeshactor (in “content” i have a mesh, animation, and a skeleton and animation is the only one that moves obviously) and attached it to ‘RootBone’, the only bone that appears as an option, but the camera stays still when i hit play (its already my main camera), and even dissapears from the scene in simulate. What am i doing wrong? :frowning:
