I try to use the Advanced Sessions Plugin, instead of the default nodes. (I rebuilt the plugin from the code, because it was incompatible with 4.14.P1 The problem is, that the client doesn’t find the existing server. (With default nodes it does, but later that won’t be enough for me)
Going through the log file of joining, I found the server’s row, but it was rejected because of some “BuildUniqueID”. The build was created only once, then put in a rar file, sent through the net, unpacked and played, so nothing was changed.
Thanks for fast reply, is it possible to know when will the 4.14 support can be expected? I converted my project to 4.14 without backup, that’s why I was trying to DIY it. I would like to use it, it can wait for sure, just would like to know how to plan.
Are you sure that both were running the same build that had the plugin nodes? Looking briefly through the subsystem there were no relevant changes in 4.14.
Both server and client have to be on the same packaged version.
I tested out it node by node, it works if I use your filter and CreateSessionAdvanced nodes, but I have to use the default find sessions node, else it writes:
You need to make sure that the steam plugin is enabled in your project so that it builds out. That also isn’t a problem with the plugin if the default nodes don’t work either.
Sorry for the late reply. I am using this plug in. I can only find sessions which are over the same router. Cannot find session hosted at a distance. I am using ue4.15. I have my appid.
Could you check that if you use the built in “find session” then it can work properly or not. If it doesn’t work either, then the problem roots someplace else, and should be posted to another question.
